Tudor Place, a decorative arts museum in Georgetown, is reaching its 200th birthday in 2016. This lovely home, nestled on five acres of gardens, covers an entire city block, was home the George Washington's granddaughter, and later the Peter family for generations. To come is a special exhibit in combo with Colonial Williamburg and Museum of the American Revolution (April), a birthday party in July, and a historic dinner in October. Tours will be sure to focus on 200 years of history.

The rose garden in the summer is like a sanctuary, though spring is also a nice time to visit. Whenever you go make sure that you check out their events calendar for special tours and activities.
