Does anyone know if, when we visit her, we can bring our daughter a computer (she needs an upgrade) without any problems with VAT and/or customs? She's in England.

It won't be a problem if its a laptop. A desktop may be a bit different story not to mention rather cumbersome to haul with you.

It's a erlatively small box (an Apple iMac), about the size of a small suitcase.

it might be best to take it out of box, etc so that way it looks like u just carrying your laptop, they wouldnt charge you for taking your laptop in and out country everytime you go. so you would be fine.
