Napa experts...what's new in the Napa Valley right now? Are there any new wineries? Cooking classes? Exhibits? Tours? I'd love to hear some new options for fun things to do in the Napa Valley.

An upcoming event on July 18-19 for music, food and wine lovers is the Rock Napa concert at the Charles Krug Winery in St. Helena. The fest features live musical performances on two stages, food trucks to feed the masses and wine stations and beer gardens. The grounds open at 4:30pm with performances starting at 8:30pm until 10pm.

I heard the Chardonnay Golf Club partnered with the Meritage Resort to offer Golf Digest’s Napa Valley Golf School, one or three days of intensive lessons with a Golf Digest-certified instructor. Mind you though, you have to be fairly wealthy since lessons range from $1500 to $4000 per person.

The downtown area of Napa is very walkable and there are a number of excellent restaurants and lodging options. Don't forget exploring and venturing out when in Napa...Yountville, St. Helena and Calistoga have their own charm, especially Calistoga, which is known for its hot springs and mud baths.

Tasting tours are available at the Oxbow Public Market, which visits the Model Bakery and other eateries. There's a new distillery that has vodka, too.
