hi there, The closest beaches to Fayetteville are Holdens and oak island but they dont have changing facilities. Fort Fisher is also a great beach and takes around 2 hours. This one has free parking, changing facilities and bathroom.
Check out also Hammocks Beach State Park in Swansboro or Fort Macon State Park at Atlantic Beach which has showers and changing facilities...Enjoy!
need your thoughts guys...we want to drive from Fayetteville to myrtle beach by car. Has anyone done this and what route should we take?
I reckon I-95 will be the best and quickest route to get to Myrtle Beach, though you could also take 17 from 40 and then follow directions. Alternatively, you could also jump off 95 just south of Fayetteville on 87, or take the back roads through 40s to 701s and take that all the way to 9s to 31s to 22e to 17n.
Yes checkout Carolina Beach its 100 miles southeast of Fayetteville. Its neighboring the 761-acre Carolina Beach State Park, the park has walk-in and car camping sites. And be sure to visit the Carolina Beach Boardwalk one of the best boardwalks for its food stands with the carnival atmosphere. The boardwalk is open nightly seven days per week. And there's several other beaches nearby like Wrightsville Beach. Take a look at the North Carolina Beaches Map for several others nearby.
