I am looking for recommendations on where to stay and go in the Grenadines. does anyone know of cheap, lively (i.e. bars, clubs, etc) yet secluded spots in St. Vincent and the Grenadines nor far from the beach?

There are nice places to stay all across St Vincent and the Grenadines but my favorite is Bequia in the Grenadines.

Bequia is full of inns and b&b's. If you want to be on or near the beach, check out Dawn's Creole Cottage and Lower Bay Apartments in the Lower Bay area. They're very lowkey but comfortable and romantic.

If you want to be closer to restaurants, bars and clubs and the beach consider places right in town such as the Frangipani or the Gingerbread which boast lovely views of Admiralty Bay in Port Elizabeth.

By the way, one good thing about Bequia is that you can take daytrips to St. Vincent by ferry or to Mustique and the Tobago Cays via the Friendship Rose schooner.
