The Icelandic carrier WOW Air will be offering flight services to Boston and DC from Dublin for around 300 euros round-trip from mid autumn. This is great news and cheap, though the catch is that you will have to endure a two-hour layover in Reykjavik.

Aer Lingus selling flights to DC

it's not the only carrier...Aer Lingus will be also offering direct flights 4 times a week from Dublin to Washington DC this coming May. Other routes available will be San Francisco, New York and Orlando also.

I am always surprised how cheap the airfare is from the U.S. to Iceland. I've signed up for email from Iceland tourism, and they send out frequent deals. Sometimes the packages cost about a grand (U.S.) that include the flight and hotel. I would have expected it to cost a fortune to fly to Iceland. One of these weekends, I'm going to book those packages and pick up and go!
