Disney Fantasy

The Disney Fantasy, scheduled to make its first voyage in 2012, is the latest addition to the luxurious fleet of Disney Cruise Line ships traveling the waters of destinations such as the Caribbean. The Disney Fantasy ship is currently under construction in Germany, along with its sister ship, the Dream, and will be sailing out of Port Canaveral through at least 2014.

Like the Dream, the Disney Fantasy ship will be significantly larger than the two existing Disney Cruise Line ships. With a weight of 128,000 gross tons, a length of 330 meters, and a width of 37 meters, the Disney Fantasy will be home to 1,250 staterooms and able to host far more passengers than the current ships, which have a capacity of 2,400.

Although features such as on-board services and amenities have not yet been announced, travelers can expect no less than the finest while on any of the Disney Cruise Line ships, and the Disney Fantasy will be no exception. The Fantasy will have an ambience that aligns with the current ships, as its design will recall classic ocean liners from the 1930s, a Mickey Mouse-inspired color palette, and Art Deco-style scroll work on the hull.

Despite the lack of specifics about things to do aboard the Disney Fantasy ship, passengers will be assured of an excellent vacation. The ship itself will boast plenty of areas where travelers can spend time together as family or relax on their own, in the multiple kids' areas and adults-only sections. No specific itinerary has been announced, but it's expected that the Fantasy will call on Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, during cruises through the Caribbean Sea.
