MS Queen Elizabeth

The MS Queen Elizabeth will make her maiden voyage in October 2010.

For an experience of luxury cruising where classic beauty and the rich heritage of times past is evident on every deck, select a cruise package aboard one of the Cunard cruise ships. The elegant style, opulent amenities, and lavish décor place the ships at a level all their own. The current fleet of Cunard cruise ships consists of the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria, and the newest addition will be the MS Queen Elizabeth, which will take the place of the Queen Elizabeth II, which has been retired.

The MS Queen Elizabeth is another outstanding member of the fleet of Cunard cruise ships, as it combines old-world elegance through a collection of photos and memorabilia displayed at Cunard Place and the Cunarders' Gallery with modern amenities such as the ConneXions Internet Center. The interior rooms of the ship, including the Grand Lobby, Royal Theatre, Grand Ballroom, and dining venues are decorated with luxurious drapery, crystal chandeliers, marble floors, murals, and frescoes.

The Queen Elizabeth Cunard has many features and entertainment venues to provide guests with a superior cruising experience, including a children's program with indoor and outdoor facilities catering to children ages 1 to 12. Outdoor activities aboard the ship include the Games Deck, which has options for a round of croquet or lawn bowling played in an English garden setting. The Royal Spa and Fitness Center provides guests with a fully equipped gym and aromatherapy massages, and at the Pavilion Pool, two whirlpools offer soothing relaxation.

For quiet time, the Commodore Club and observation lounge offers comfortable leather chairs for an afternoon cocktail while enjoying panoramic views from the bow. In the Cunard Library, you have a selection of over 6,000 titles to choose from to while away the afternoon. Shopping at the Royal Arcade is also a popular activity; the arcade encompasses two decks and provides a variety of trendy and chic designer boutiques.

After dinner at one of eight fine-dining venues aboard the Queen Elizabeth Cunard, you can enjoy evening entertainment such as blackjack, roulette, or slot machines at the upscale Empire Casino, or watch live performances from your private box the Royal Court Theatre while sipping champagne. For music and dancing, the Garden Lounge combines dining with dancing under the stars on the roof of the conservatory. At the Yacht Club, DJs and live bands play the latest in music and provide a lively evening of dancing. The Queen's Room, or Grand Ballroom, is the location for traditional afternoon tea with scones and cucumber sandwiches served by impeccable white-gloved waiters. The ballroom also hosts the elegant Royal Nights themed balls.

More than 70 percent of the accommodations on the MS Queen Elizabeth have private balconies with select staterooms or suites providing the utmost in style and comfort. Luxury suites offer amenities including butler and concierge service, champagne and strawberries upon arrival, 24-hour room service, and in-suite dining. Guests staying in comfortable staterooms are provided with complimentary sparkling wine upon arriving, 24-hour room service, fresh fruit, and a newspaper supplied daily along, with standard amenities including wireless internet, TV, in-room safe, robe and slippers, telephone, refrigerator, and nightly turndown service.

From the home port of the Queen Elizabeth Cunard in Southampton, the cruises will depart to such destinations as Lisbon, Cadiz Spain, and the Canary Islands. Other voyages aboard the MS Queen Elizabeth follow with the Mediterranean Premier, Aegean Introduction, Gallic Debut, Iberian Discovery, and the Festive Debut cruise. Whichever itinerary you select, a journey aboard this beautiful ship is sure to be epic.
