Dinant Hotels

Dinant is a small town perched on the Meuse River, and due to its relatively small size, the choices for Dinant hotels are pretty scarce. There are some good Dinant lodging options, but because of the fact that they are limited means that you should book your room in advance during the summer months if you can. Summer is the peak season for Dinant travel, though any time of year is fun to visit. Finding cheap hotels in Dinant is easier in the winter, but even in the summer the rates are overall agreeable. To help you in your Dinant lodging search, here are a few recommendations for some of the best Dinant hotels.

Recently renovated, and proudly housed in a sprawling 1810 manor, the Hotel Mercure Dinant Castel de Pont a Lesse is one of the finest Dinant hotels you’ll come across. It is found just south of town in a woodland area that is very relaxing, and if you rent a car, the drive in along the Lesse River is a treat. There are 91 comfortable and rather spacious rooms at the Hotel Mercure, and while 5-star luxury is not to be had when it comes to accommodations in Dinant, these rooms are pretty nice. Each offers satellite cable TV, air conditioning, an in-room safety deposit box, a radio clock, Wi-Fi internet access, and a mini-bar. The bathrooms leave a bit to be desired, but they do have shower tubs and are outfitted with hair dryers. There is a good restaurant onsite, and room service is available from 7 a.m. until midnight. The hotel bar is a snazzy and attractive place to enjoy a drink, and there is an indoor pool here as well where you can enjoy some down time. For business travelers, there are eleven meeting rooms. For all guests, the outside grounds offer plenty to enjoy, including a miniature golf course and attractive gardens.

Though the L"Auberge de Bouvignes is also found outside of town, it is another Dinant lodging option that you will certainly want to consider. There are only six units here, so you’ll want to really try to book ahead. For those with rental cars, there is free parking available at L’Auberge, and since you’re a few miles south of town, you won’t have to trouble finding a space. A rustic kind of a place, this hotel is set right on the banks of the Meuse River, which you’ll want to take a cruise on during your visit. Inside the hotel, the recently refurbished rooms offer very comfortable beds, Wi-Fi internet access, cable TV, and nice bathrooms. They are attractive rooms that are not overdone, and if you can, it’s nice to nab one with a river view. In addition to excellent rooms, L’Auberge also features a fantastic restaurant. Pleasurable dining is surely part of a stay at this Dinant lodging choice, and while you enjoy the food, you might also indulge in a delicious Belgian beer. Offering affordable rates and a great staff, L’Auberge de Bouvignes aims to please and it does a good job at it.

While the aforementioned Dinant hotels are great, it is understandable if you want to entertain the idea of staying in town. The Ibis Dinant manages to offer a good room at a good price, much like L’Auberge. The riverfront location is a definite plus, and you’re within walking distance of bars, restaurants, shops, and the Dinant casino, which is worth checking out. All of the 59 rooms at the Ibis are air conditioned, and while they are somewhat simple, they boast very comfortable beds and are of good size. There is a phone in each room, as well as cable TV, and each unit has its own bathroom. Internet access is free to guests, and outside of the rooms there is a 24-hour bar and snack center. There is no restaurant at the Ibis Dinant, but as mentioned, you’re within walking distance of some so no need to worry.

For all intents and purposes, the last two recommendations fall into the category of cheap hotels in Dinant as the rates are quite reasonable. Also offering good rates, and thus another option for cheap hotels in Dinant is the Hotel de la Couronne, which enjoys a great location in the heart of town. You are extremely close to the city’s main cathedral when you choose Hotel de la Couronne for your accommodations in Dinant, and looming above you is the imposing Citadel. This hotel has a traditional feel, and while it is a bit old, this adds to the overall charm for some. The rooms here are average, offering not too much, but not too little either. Guests will enjoy a private bathroom, cable TV, a telephone, and air conditioning. Some rooms have mini-fridges in them, so you can inquire if you think you’ll want one. Good food and plenty of drinks can be enjoyed between the hotel’s restaurant and bar, and you can hardly complain about the central location if city tours are on your agenda.
