With tourist attractions in the Czech Republic ranging from historic castles to award-winning breweries, you’ll never want for things to do in the Czech Republic. Many popular Czech Republic attractions can be found in or around the beautiful capital city of Prague, but there are a wide variety of destinations throughout the country that you won’t want to miss.

Some of the most popular Czech Republic attractions, including world-class shopping and dining, can be found in Prague, the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Its large and beautiful historic center is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Highlights include stunning bridges and architecture, like the Charles Bridge that connects Prague Castle to Old Town Prague, and the St. Vitus Cathedral.

One of the most unique things to do in the Czech Republic is to explore the region's fascinating castles. The Prague Castle is one of the largest in the world and has housed kings, emperors, and presidents. The beautiful city of Český Krumlov in the southern Bohemian region was also named a UNESCO site for its historic old town and castle. Incredible architecture can also be seen in Olomouc, a vibrant university town with the second largest historic center after Prague.

Take in a museum such as the National Museum in Prague to get a taste of the nation’s rich history and culture. Other must-see Czech Republic attractions await travelers who venture out of Bohemia into Moravia in the east and visit Brno, the regional capital and second largest city. Brno hosts the Moto GP Grand Prix every year and is also home to several excellent museums, like the Moravian Museum.

Wineries and Breweries

Have a drink at one of the many vineyards or wine bars in the wineries of the Mutěnice Wine Region, which also attracts foodies for its smoked meats. Beer drinkers can enjoy the national drink at one of the many breweries across the country where it’s usually very reasonably priced, or visit Plzen to tour the source of the original Pilsner Urquell beer.
