Juan les Pins is one of the towns set along the glittering French Riviera on the southern coast of France. Its location between Nice and Cannes means that it is conveniently situated for day trips into either city as well as to the tiny Principality of Monaco. The town is closely associated with the larger city of Antibes. The two are located adjacent to each other on the Cap d'Antibes. The closest airport is the Nice Cote d'Azur Airport, which is located about seven miles away, and both towns have a train station on the main Nice/Cannes line.

For a vacation on the cape, you will be conveniently located in either Juan les Pins hotels or Antibes accommodations. However, Juan les Pins has a much longer and more sheltered beach, so there are more beach resorts on this side of the cape. Hotels in Antibes provide great city and marina views as well as views of the massive Fort Carre. This is also a good base for walking through the historic old town and enjoying its covered market.

The Juan les Pins beaches provide the background for one of Europe's most prestigious jazz festivals (called Jazz a Juan) that is held in conjunction with its sister city of New Orleans. There are a number of things to do other than enjoy the beautiful Riviera beaches. You may want to visit the Picasso Museum, housed in the Chateau Grimaldi right on the coast of Antibes. It is built on the foundations of an ancient Greek town called Antipolis. It was a stronghold of the Grimaldi family beginning in 1608, and in 1946 was the home of the great Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. He and his widow both donated works to this fascinating museum.

A couple miles north of Juan les Pins en route to Nice is Marineland, with fun for the entire family. There are shows featuring sea lions, orca whales, and dolphins, as well as polar bears, sharks, penguins, and the excellent French Naval Museum.

One of the best Juan les Pins hotels is the Garden Beach Hotel, located at 13 Boulevard Edouard Baudoin, the main boulevard on the part of the beach closest to the town center. Along this stretch of Juan les Pins beaches are many excellent restaurants and bars, the town's main casino, and numerous shops and boutiques. The Garden Beach Hotel is a four-star Meridien property with 175 air-conditioned rooms, fitness center, restaurant and bar, and health club with massage treatments.

While there are fewer Juan les Pins beaches out on the cape itself, this is a very picturesque location. One of the finest five-star Juan les Pins hotels in the area is located here—the Hotel Imperial Garoupe. It boasts a respected gourmet restaurant, 30 luxurious rooms and suites, a secluded park with swimming pool, and a small private beach. It is located on the Antibes side of the cape, so provides wonderful views of the coastline and Fort Carre.
