La Plagne

La Plagne is another of the finest resorts within three hours of Lyon. The driving distance from the capital of the Rhone-Alpes is actually just two and a half hours. The La Plagne ski resorts and many of the other ski resorts in this area are very popular because of their proximity to a variety of enviable tourist destinations including Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and of course, the south of France. Plagne Center was the first of the resorts at La Plagne, opened in December of 1961. It is still one of the most picturesque and popular areas among all of the La Plagne ski resorts. Champagny-en-Vanoise, situated in the Bozel valley, is another of the most alluring resorts in the area. Here you will find a variety of spectacular chalets and hotels, as well as a number of excellent restaurants, shops, cafes, and bars. Montchavin is in the commune of Bellentre and is an equally breathtaking place to enjoy skiing in La Plagne.
