Parc de la Tete d'Or

Parc de la Tete d’Or is the largest park in France and easily one of its most alluring things to do. Altogether the park is around 290 acres of gorgeous flora, a large boating lake, and lots of trails and tracks for joggers and cyclists. There are also shaded trails where you can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the park in Lyon France. There is an International Competition of New Roses each and every year that is sponsored by the park. The foot paths, statuary, bridges, and trails accentuate the wonderful flowers and fauna that can be seen all throughout the park. If you are more into sports and outdoors activities that just relaxing and strolling through the park, you will find that there are more than enough options for you as well.
There is a large track that circles that park that is designated for joggers and cyclists. There is also a boules court, miniature golf, horseback riding, to name a few. People are always throwing a Frisbee, kicking a soccer ball, or just having fun during the warm spring and summer months. Boating on the lake is especially popular. The lake is located at the center of the Parc de la Tete d’Or. The park in Lyon France is the perfect place to unwind from the hectic pace of the city. Many residents will just walk from work to eat their lunch in the park. Admission is free and it is a perfect place to enjoy a basket lunch with a bottle of wine. Of course, the zoo is a major attraction at the largest park in France as well. It is located at the northern end of the park and contains such interesting animals as elephants, giraffes, and a variety of large cats including tigers. Besides the zoo and the lake itself, the Botanical Gardens (Jardin Botanique de Lyon) are well worth a stroll. The broad range of plants and flowers, as well as the intricate design of the landscape, makes this one of the most popular points of interest in the entire park. This park in Lyon France is an excellent option for an enjoyable day of relaxation. Parc de la Tete d'Or is one of the top attractions in the city along with the Place Bellecour, Fourviere Hill, and the Notre Dame Basilica.
