Montpellier France is a city built on two hills of the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, near the stunning southern French coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Every summer, the city hosts the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier, honoring classical music, jazz, and opera through concerts, performances, films, and discussions. Montpellier Beach

The best beach near Montpellier France is Plage de l’Espiguette, or Espiguette Beach, one of the largest and most popular beaches in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. Situated on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, the beach is a short drive outside Montpellier, near a smaller town called Grau-du-Roi. At six miles in length and surrounded by dunes and lagoons, the long, flat sands of Espiguette provide visitors with a great deal of space and solitude. This beach is never crowded. There are only two small eateries near the parking lot. All other facilities are half a mile away in Grau-du-Roi. However, it is this sense of untamed adventure and privacy that continue to draw beach lovers to Espiguette Beach. Certain segments of L’Espiguette cater specifically to naturists and the LGBT community, but all are welcome. Signs are posted where appropriate.
