The Villa Kilauea is located about five miles north of the city; the drive takes between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the time of day. It is run by a husband and wife team, and is well known for the quality of the homemade jams served at the unusually sumptuous breakfasts served in the pool house by the swimming pool. If you're a young person on a tight budget, you'll find that some of the best bed and breakfasts in Nice are actually hostels. The Hostel Villa Saint Exupery is a bit closer to the city, but set in a wonderful old villa with a surprising number of services and amenities. The kitchen is open so you can cook your own food, and there is a professional staff that prepares breakfast and snacks.
