Though the hotels routinely raise the prices for the dates surrounding and including Oktoberfest, there are plenty of accommodations on the outskirts of town that will provide for you, so that you are just a short bus or subway trip away – and with Munich’s extensive and reputable lines, it’s usually a good idea to save some money by staying far away from the city center.

But even these rooms go very quickly, so plan your Octoberfest Munich trip early. A year in advance might be safe, but depending on the details of your vacation, even that might be pushing it.
