Traveling To Oktoberfest

A German Oktoberfest trip is a great way to get a real cultural experience. Though there are plenty of tourists there, people come from all over Germany, not to mention the rest of Europe – giving Oktoberfest an egalitarian and welcoming overtone to the proceedings. Many travel companies offer Oktoberfest Vacation packages – since early autumn is already one of the best times to travel to Europe, as the festival traditionally starts in late September, it’s almost too easy to get caught up in the festivities of Oktoberfest.

Though there are many German Oktoberfest celebrations held throughout the country, the world-renowned one is held in the meadows of Munich, so the majority of your standard Oktoberfest vacation packages are centered here. Though the hotels routinely raise the prices for the dates surrounding and including Oktoberfest, there are plenty of accommodations on the outskirts of town that will provide for you, so that you are just a short bus or subway trip away – and with Munich’s extensive and reputable lines, it’s usually a good idea to save some money by staying far away from the city center.

But even these rooms go very quickly, so plan your Octoberfest Munich trip early. A year in advance might be safe, but depending on the details of your vacation, even that might be pushing it.
