Not far from Perissa, on the southern coast of Santorini lies the charming village of Vlihada. Vlihada is a bit less done-up than Perissa, and offers a serene beach perfect for letting your cares fly by the wayside. Heading back towards Fira, we come to the village of Firostefani, which is pretty much the northern extension of Fira. There are primarily hotels in Firostefani, and other types of vacation rentals. Firostefani boasts some restaurants and cafes, and Fira is an easy walk away. Perched on the cliffs above the caldera in Firostefani sits a Santorini hotel where you get a good amount of bang for your buck. The location high on the cliff lends itself to beautiful views to the caldera from the main balcony. The apartments, or rooms, are splendidly decorated and fit the feel of the village. Each room has a private balcony, satellite TV, CD player, telephone, and a refrigerator. You’ll have plenty of space in your room, and will enjoy the private bath and air conditioning. Relax on the main patio, where you will find lounge chairs, umbrellas and a jacuzzi. The staff can facilitate renting a car or a bike, and the hotel operates a free mini-bus for transfers in the area. Savor the views here and enjoy the relaxing environment at a good price. Prices range from $75-$105 per night, depending on the season, with summer being more expensive.
