Procida

Procida is a part of the Phlegrean Islands situated on the northern end of the Gulf of Naples. Specifically, it is a commune of Naples that is located right between the island of Ischia and Cape Miseno. Procida Island is a popular destination for both residents of southern Italy, as well as international tourists. During the peak summer months, you will see a cross-section of sun-worshiping people from all over Europe and various parts of North America. If you wish to stay overnight or for a few days in this city, there are also an array of hotels to choose from.
The islands in the Gulf of Naples and along the Amalfi Coast are especially popular vacation destinations for native Italians from the likes of Milan, Rome, and Naples. There are a wide variety of things to do in Procida Italy, from visiting historical and cultural monuments and buildings of interest, to simply taking it easy on the breathtaking beaches. You can easily find a Naples to Procida ferry if you are staying in the capital of the Campania region and wish to spend a day, or a couple of days on the enchanting island of Procida. There are several companies that offer Naples to Procida ferry service. You can buy tickets right at the port in Naples and have the option of taking a hydrofoil or a large ferry. You will have no trouble finding the right boat for you based on your itinerary and needs. Some boats depart from Naples and travel to Ischia after dropping people in Procida, while others provide direct service back and forth. Many of the 10,000 or so residents that live on the island of Procida commute back and forth to Naples Monday through Friday.
Just like Salerno and Positano, Procida offers travelers the welcome experience of exploring a charming village that has been largely unaffected by contemporary society. You can still walk through the narrow streets and into artisan shops and cafes, and feel as though you have taken a step back in time. This is not to suggest that you will not have all of the modern conveniences you need at your disposal, but it is easy to forget about your troubles on this one-time quiet fishing village. One of the best things to do in Procida Italy is to get out and simply explore on your own or with your group. There are a variety of amazing cafes, restaurants, and wine bars where you can sit down and watch the people pass by. There are lovely cafes and restaurants located right on the water so you can enjoy dinner while the sun sets over the Mediterranean Sea.
Shopping is another of the most popular things to do Procida Italy. You can find some truly one-of-a-kind crafts as well as amazing works of original art by local artists who reside on the island. This is a wonderful place to do shopping for souvenirs and tiny gifts to bring home to people after your vacation.
If you are staying in Naples, it is highly recommended that you make a trip to visit the surrounding islands. Once you have secured your Naples to Procida ferry, you can begin to explore one of the most popular of all the islands located in the Gulf of Naples.
