Portofino Hotels

Portofino hotels are largely located along the waterfront in this upscale resort town on the Italian Riviera. Portofino has earned a reputation over the years as an upscale vacation spot that was at one time a haunt for the biggest Hollywood celebrities. It still draws Hollywood elite as well as travelers from around the world to its quaint harbor, pastel villas, and elegant hotels. Whether you are a couple looking to get away on a romantic retreat in a charming boutique or a family in search of the perfect full-scale resort, you are sure to find something that appeals to you.

The Hotel Splendido (pictured) is among the top Portofino hotels, boasting an incredible array of amenities. It is situated on a lush hill overlooking the marvelous harbor and is within easy walking distance of the port, and many of the best restaurants, wine bars, and cafes. The Hotel Splendido features 64 rooms and 35 spacious suites, each one thoughtfully appointed with fine furnishings, and many of which come with furnished terraces with vistas of the sea. The amenities do not stop at the amazing guest accommodations, but rather extend to the health and wellness spa, the fine dining options, swimming pools, and 24-hour concierge attention.

The Splendido Mare is the sister hotel and is positioned adjacent to the Hotel Splendido overlooking the harbor. It is a smaller accommodation that nonetheless offers an utterly elegant experience. There are 16 guest rooms and suites, most of which offer terraces with views.

The Domina Home Piccolo does not offer as many amenities as the Hotel Splendido, but the perfect location on the waterfront and the historic villa hotel itself more than make up for the lack of a swimming pool, for instance. Each of the expertly appointed rooms at the Domina Home Piccolo come equipped with stocked mini bars, fine furnishings, spacious bathrooms, and plush bedding. There are 22 guest rooms in all. There is a restaurant and bar onsite as well as an elevator for disabled access. Free wireless Interet access and continental breakfast are two more perks of staying at the Domina Home Piccolo.

The Albergo Nazionale is positioned right on the harbor within close range of the best restaurants and bars, as well as cultural attractions in town. Boating, fishing, and diving are all available just steps from the hotel. There are only twelve rooms in this tiny but charming historic establishment. Most of the rooms even have their own lounge area and the whole group can enjoy a wonderful pizza at the onsite pizzeria. The 24-hour concierge staff will be more than happy to assist you with dinner reservations, or with scheduling tours and excursions around Portofino. Some of the most popular tours take guests to neighboring destinations like Camogli and Santa Margherita Ligure.

You essentially have a few choices for a Portofino Italy accommodation. You can stay at one of the resorts that offer a wide range of amenities, opt for a smaller boutique hotel, or look into securing your own vacation rentals or villas on the waterfront. No matter what you end up choosing, you are sure to have an unforgettable trip to this Mediterranean port town.
