Riomaggiore Hotels

Located on the Mediterranean coast of northern Italy, Riomaggiore is the southernmost village of the Cinque Terre region. This charming town is popular for summer tourists who spend time hiking Cinque Terre trails and exploring the historical buildings of the town. If you're planning a visit to the Cinque Terre region of Italy, there are many options for Riomaggiore hotels, bed and breakfasts, and private apartments. Finding a hotel in Riomaggiore is considerably easier during the off season, although it's possible to find Riomaggiore accommodations during the summer if you start your planning early.

La Terrazza Bed and Breakfast

Riomaggiore accommodations range from small two room apartments to small hotels with up to six guest rooms. Bed and breakfasts are also very common. If you're looking for a hotel in Riomaggiore right on the coast, the La Terrazza bed and breakfast is a good choice. The seaside hotel in Riomaggiore is just a short walk from the train station and central Riomaggiore where the majority of markets and cafes are located. The rooms are spacious, yet comfortable, and have great views of the sea. A hearty breakfast is served each morning on a sunny terrace. The terrace is also an ideal place to enjoy a sunset after a long day of exploring.

Locanda del Sole

Most Riomaggiore accommodations are housed in historical buildings, with few exceptions. The Locanda del Sole is the most modern hotel in Riomaggiore. It is located on a hill just on the edge of town, near the hiking trail that allows access to the neighboring village of Manarola. Even though the rooms are relatively plain, they are bright and spacious with a large window. Some of the rooms have refrigerators and others have ocean views. Like most Riomaggiore hotels, Locanda del Sole serves a homemade breakfast each morning.

Edi di Giaccio Domenico Hotel

Some people prefer Riomaggiore hotels right in the heart of the village, where most of the town's activity takes place. The Edi di Giaccio Domenico hotel blends in with the other terraced buildings in central Riomaggiore, making it hard to spot at first. Once you find the hotel, you can look forward to clean and simple rooms with views of the sea and a number of outdoor terraces. The hotel allows small dogs.

Riomaggiore lodging should be booked a few months in advance. Although there are many hotels to choose from, most of the hotels are small and fill up fast.

Once you get checked into your hotel, take an opportunity to explore the town. The rocky harbor has a small shop that rents snorkeling equipment and kayaks. Most of the nightlife takes place at the small bar in the center of town where you can drink local wine. It is also common for people to drink wine and socialize in the central square of Riomaggiore.
