Vico Equense can be a wonderful place to visit while traveling through southern Italy's Campania region. A coastal resort town, it isn't as well-known as nearby Sorrento, at least among foreign travelers. Many Italians are aware of the charms of a Vico Equense escape. The seaside location is just one of these charms, and there are some tantalizing beaches in Vico Equense that any and all regional travelers will want to keep in mind.
Vico Equense is only some twenty miles southeast of Naples, and as such, many of its repeat visitors hail from this larger regional city. Word is starting to get out, and an increasing number of visitors come from other cities, not to mention other countries. Regardless of where they come from, Vico Equense visitors have plenty of enticing options for things to do once they arrive. Strolling through the medieval town is just one way to keep busy, and since the town has thermal springs, a stop at a local spa might also be in order. Scrajo Terme, which is found at Via Luigi Serio 10, is arguably the best spa in town. It features a private beach where water from a sulfur spring mixes with water from the sea.
Spending some time at the beach is one of the top things to do in Vico Equense. The beaches are mostly found at Vico Marina, and they are small beaches in scenic coves. Restaurants in Vico Equense are also popular, and they specialize in Italian cuisine and fresh seafood. There are places in town to get some very good pizza if that is what you have in mind.
The Vico Equense hotels are quite numerous, and since they offer a lot in the way of variety, visitors should have little trouble finding a base that suits their needs. On the more expensive side of things are Capo La Gala Hotel and the Grand Hotel Angiolieri. Those who are looking to save some money on rates might appreciate the Hotel Mega Mare or the Le Ancore Hotel instead. They aren't the cheapest Vico Equense hotels, but they offer a lot in the way of overall value.
