Though the city is growing as a tourist destination, the hotels in TurinItaly have hardly caught up with the recent influx. Like any place, of course, you'll find some good spots - the Turin Palace Hotel has long been a favorite - but this is definitely a city where an exhaustive search is probably a waste of time. The differences between the luxury choices and the cheap hotels in Turin Italy are negligible at best.
But there is always, of course, that Turin Palace Hotel. The whitewashed exterior rises gently above the Turin skyline and inside the rooms are furnished with Venetian lamps and dark wood furniture. It also has a convenient location, situated near the train station (the usual caveats concerning hotels near train stations do not really apply here) and just south of the busy shops, bars and restaurants of Piazza San Carlo.
Not far from here is the Hotel Piemontese. Boasting the same prime location as the Turin Palace Hotel, but charging significantly lower rates, the Hotel Piemontese supplies everything you could want in a place to stay. Sure, it doesn't have the prestige of the finer hotels in Turin Italy, but the money you save can be spent just as easily on opera tickets for the nearby Teatro Regio (one of the country's leading opera houses) or at one of the coffee shops of Piazza San Carlo. Here you can partake in the city's most famous drink - coffee liberally injected with Turinese chocolate and topped with whipping cream.
Another of the pleasant cheap hotels in Turin is the Victoria Hotel, an English style hotel with a view of the Po River, garden access and canopied beds. Whether or not you feel you are back in a British manor is up for debate. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele is the city's main thoroughfare and is home to the train station as well as a wide array of cheap hotels in Turin, so if you have not made arrangements ahead of time, just pick a direction and walk down it - you'll likely find something available and comfortable within minutes.
What remains of Turin's old town is easily reachable if you stay at the Dogana Vecchio Hotel. The hotel even takes it one step further and attempts to simulate the 17-century baroque style that was a bit more rampant throughout the city before World War II. The try at history is only moderately successful, but certainly adds to the hotel's considerable charm.
For any visitor to the city of Turin, there's bound to be a Turin hotel to suit your vacation needs.
