Amsterdam Hotels

Finding the right Amsterdam hotels for your vacation to Amsterdam is one of the first steps in planning your trip to Amsterdam. Amsterdam accommodation can include everything from a cheap hotel in Amsterdam to some of the most luxurious apartment stays travelers may have ever seen. There are many districts to choose from in Amsterdam, and plenty of Amsterdam hotels to stay in.
Cheap Hotel in Amsterdam
Finding a cheap hotel in Amsterdam isn’t as difficult as it may seem at first. Although Amsterdam is widely considered to be one of the most expensive cities in Europe to visit, it is still possible to find a deal. The good news is that even the most inexpensive hotels in Amsterdam are likely to be clean and neatly kept. You won’t find many slummy hotels or places that make you uncomfortable. Basic accommodation will be available, and usually you will have your own bathroom as well as your own room and basic hotel amenities. One excellent choice for a cheap hotel in Amsterdam is the Museumzicht. Located near the popular Museumplein, the hotel is located in a large Victorian house and has a breakfast room with a full service breakfast included. Ancient furniture adds charm, and continues to make this one of the best places for budget accomodation.
Luxury Hotel in Amsterdam
In addition to the less expensive Amsterdam hotels, there are also plenty of choices for travelers who are looking for luxurious Amsterdam accommodation. Luxury Amsterdam accommodation will be along the lines of what you might expect from a European spa. Many of these more expensive hotels, like their less expensive counterparts, are located in the heart of the city. The advantage is that you will often have sweeping views of the canals down below. Luxury accommodation will often include access to a spa, workout facilities, continental breakfast, free newspapers and more. The Amsterdam American Hotel is one of the most well-known luxury hotels in Amsterdam. Not only is it host to the Cafe Americain, but the building itself is a wonderful piece of history and fascinating to explore. The hotel is located in downtown Amsterdam, near the canals and somewhat close to Dam Square.
Bed and Breakfast in Amsterdam
Bed and Breakfast Amsterdam accommodation is another popular way to stay in Amsterdam. You will of course have a full breakfast served up each morning of your stay, and many of the Bed and Breakfasts in Amsterdam are found in cozy 17th century buildings which add to the charm of the experience. You can book these accommodations in person or in advance. Note that some bed and breakfasts do have shared bathrooms, so if this is a concern for you be sure to check in advance. One of the great Bed and Breakfasts in Amsterdam is the Wynnobel Hotel, owned by the family of the same name. Breakfast is of course included, and the hotel is located close to the Rijksmuseum. At this hotel, it is even possible to have breakfast served to you in bed.
Most of the hotels in Amsterdam are of the highest qualities. Anyone who has trouble with stairs should note that elevators are a rare amenity in many of these hotels, since they are housed in 17th century structures that are not elevator-friendly.
