Cordoba Weather
Cordoba weather is known for being very good on the whole. Found in the southern part of Spain, the city enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, and on most days, the sun is shining. This helps to make the decision of when to go a relatively easy one.
Summer: Summer isn't generally considered to be the best time to travel to Cordoba Spain, as this is when the city is at its hottest. Temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit are common during the months of July and August in particular, and the average daytime temps hover around 90 degrees. It's no coincidence that siesta coincides with the very hottest time of the day. All this being said, the beaches of the Costa del Sol are only about an hour's drive away, and Lake Iznajar is even closer. This lake has its own beach, and it's also where you will find the majority of the Cordoba villa rentals. Rain is very rare in the summer, and it does cool down a bit at night.
Fall: Fall is one of the best times to travel to Cordoba Spain for a number of reasons. The two main ones are the excellent weather and the relative lack of crowds. October arguably boasts the best weather of all the fall months, as the summer heat has waned, though it's not exactly chilly either. Activities such as hiking and biking, which can be done at the area parks, are especially enjoyable during the fall season, and thanks to the comfortable weather, city walking tours can also be ideal.
Winter: Winter can be a great time to travel to Cordoba, as long as you don't mind the cooler and wetter weather. It rains about one out of every three days in Cordoba during the winter season, and the temperatures can drop down into the 50s and even the 40s on some occasions, though it is often quite warm and sunny. Since many Cordoba buildings don't have central heating, warm clothes should be packed when visiting in the winter. Snow is very rare throughout the region, except in the high mountains. You can go skiing or snowboarding near Cordoba in the winter.
Spring: Spring is widely considered to be the best time to visit Cordoba Spain. Much like fall, the weather is idyllic, with daytime highs ranging from the upper 60s to lower 80s. The temperatures rise the closer you get to summer. May in particular is arguably the very best time to travel to Cordoba Spain, as the average temperature of 61 degrees basically ensures warm days and cool nights. Also helping to make May such a great time to visit is the fact that this month is when many of the best Cordoba festivals take place. Hotel rooms can go fast around festival time, though generally speaking, the spring crowds aren't too bad on average.
