Cheap Granada Hotels

Cheap Granada hotels are relatively abundant in number, which is good news for budget travelers who don't want to overspend on lodging. The best discount hotels are both clean and comfortable, and they don't put guests on the outskirts of town. In fact, many a budget accommodation in Granada is found right in the heart of it all, and this means that guests can walk or take a short bus ride to virtually all the top attractions.

The "higher-end" cheap Granada hotels have a three-star rating, as is the case with the Hotel Las Almenas (pictured). One of the best discount hotels in the land, this hotel calls Acera del Darro 82 home, which puts it about a ten-minute walk from the heart of the city's tourist core. Close by are restaurants and cafes, and the beautiful Granada Cathedral isn't very far off either. In addition to a good location, the Hotel Las Almenas offers clean and tasteful guest rooms, and while relatively modern throughout, the decor exhibits a classic Moorish appeal. A competent staff that can provide hotel guests with some great travel tips is just one more reason to keep the Hotel Las Almenas in mind, and should the budget allow, you might spring for one of the rooms with a jetted tub.

If the rates at one of the three-star Granada hotels are still too high for your liking, there are a variety of two-star hotels to choose from. Among these is the delightful Hotel Reina Mora, which is well-situated at Calle Nueva de la Virgen 40. A relatively small hotel, the Reina Mora offers sixteen rooms, and all of them feature bathrooms. Also standard among the in-room amenities are TVs, air conditioning, heating, and complimentary Internet access. As if this wasn't enough, the Hotel Reina Mora features an onsite tour desk that can help guests with any number of things, such as securing tickets for the awe-inspiring Alhambra.

Another two-star budget accommodation in Granada that can make a good discount base while in town is the Hotel Granada Centro. As its name implies, this 32-unit hotel enjoys a central location, with the major avenue of Gran Via just a hop, skip, and a jump away. The address is Calle Navarrete 7. As for the 32 guest units at the Hotel Granada Centro, they might not wow you with their decor, but it is hard to find fault with the cleanliness and the standard amenities. These amenities include a complete bathroom, TV with satellite programming, free Internet access, heating, and air conditioning. As is typical at many a Granada hotel, hair dryers are provided, and parking is available nearby for those who are thinking of renting a car or bringing their own.

As you might suspect, the one-star Granada hotels are among the cheapest places to stay while in the city. They can be utterly ideal for travelers who don't require a lot of frills. That's not to stay that the guest units in all of the one-star properties lack any real amenities. At the Hotel Albero, for example, each guest unit boasts a private bathroom, heating, air conditioning, a TV, and a phone. A pleasant decor only adds to the allure of the Hotel Albero's rooms, and since the general facilities include a tour desk, it isn't hard for guests to arrange things like a trip to the Sacromonte neighborhood to see one of the flamenco shows. Avenida Santa Maria de la Alhambra S/N is the address for the Hotel Albero.

As a side note, Granada hostels are also in good supply, so budget travelers who are in need of a good place to stay while in town will have plenty of options to select from. Generally speaking, the hostels carry a one- or two-star rating, and once again, the best of the bunch enjoy wonderful locations.
