Ibiza Hotels

Just because Ibiza is known as the island of excess, doesn't mean the savvy traveler can't find a hotel in Ibiza Town or along the relatively un-crowded northern coast for a discount rate. The majority of hotels and villas in Ibiza are located in the Sant Antoni and Playa den Bossa neighborhoods, just off the main waterfront disco district. Hotels in Sant Antoni range from lavish to lowly, with most falling somewhere in between. Sant Antoni has the most crowded Ibiza accommodation choices on the island; but if you've come to party, as you probably have, Sant Antoni is the perfect location.

But after a week of all night partying, you might want to escape to the secluded beaches and Ibiza villas found along the island's northern coast. If so, check out the agroturismo lodgings in the El Amunts (The Uplands). Travelers willing to journey out of the city will be rewarded with many Ibiza villas in the semi-tropical Upland villages of Santa Gertudis or Sant Miquel de Balanzat.

If you are arriving in Ibiza without first making hotel reservations, the best thing to do is contact the local Turismo (tourist board) for an Ibiza accommodation list, as well as listings for villas in Ibiza Town and across the entire island. Most Ibiza vacations revolve around the nightlife that abounds in Ibiza Town. Expect to pay about twice what you would pay for similar accommodations on mainland Spain. Of all the hostels and hotels in Ibiza Town, one of most reliable is Los Molinos. A five-minute walk from the waterfront disco district, Los Molinos is close to all the action, but far enough away to provide a modicum of peace and quiet. Breakfast is included in the price of a room, and a number of rooms have balconies overlooking the harbor.

If money is no object, head for the north end of the island and the exclusive Hacienda Na Xamena at the rocky headland of Sant Miquel. The Hacienda offers a self described "anti-conformist elegance with a bourgeois bohemian luxury style". Though access to the sea involves a precarious hike down steep steps, the Hacienda is one of the most relaxing hotels in Ibiza.

Another great option on the northern coast is the Cas Pla. Surrounded by olive trees and looking out onto the sea, this sixteen room hotel is the perfect example of how hotels in Ibiza can coexist with the island's ecosystem. The open air feeling and helpful, family-run atmosphere all make the Cas Pla one of the coziest and relaxed Ibiza vacations.

So whether you stumble into your room at seven in the morning, or wake up at dawn to sip fresh coffee and sway in your own personal hammock, you will be able to find an accommodation on Ibiza tailored to fit your needs.
