Much of the nightlife that happens on the island revolves around Mallorca beaches, whether you are eating, relaxing at your resort or shopping, the water is never far away. Keep in mind that all of the Palma de Mallorca public beaches have blue flag designations, which means that there is a lifeguard on duty and that the beach is clean and safe. Spain obviously has a number of popular tourist destinations including Madrid, Seville, and Barcelona. The Mediterranean Spanish islands have become increasingly popular for tourists, especially in the past ten years, and places such as Mallorca and Ibiza have blown up in terms of popularity. Some of the best beaches in Mallorca are dubbed as such because of their convenient proximity to luxury hotels and resorts as well as other local attractions.
When you touch down at the airport in Palma Mallorca you will be within close striking distance of Playa de Mallorca Beach (Playa de Palma). This is without question the best and most popular beach destination on the east coast of Mallorca. There are countless hotels and resorts as well as plenty of options for places to eat and be entertained with live music, DJs, and more. Palma de Mallorca beach is a sight to be seen in aerial photos. The sprawling beach complete with gorgeous white sand and the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean with thousands of people sunbathing.
Puerto Alcudia, Ca’n Picafort, and Playa de Muro are some of the best beaches in Mallorca, located on the west end of the island near Alcudia. Playa de Muro, adjacent to Alcudia but part of the municipality of Muro, is a fine, white sand beach where you can enjoy the Mediterranean in a bit more tranquility. Playa de Muro is near a number of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a drink and snack as you leisurely stroll down the beach.
Alcanada Beach is a popular location in Mallorca. The water here is exceptionally clear making it a popular destination for people who enjoy water sports. On the island of Mallorca, everything is available, from water skiing, to windsurfing, to sailing. Santa Ponca and Peguera are two more impressive Mallorca beaches located on the western part of the island. Peguera is unique in that it is lined with gorgeous pine trees. Each beach on the island has its own unique appeal.
There are also some extremely nice beaches on the northeastern coast of the island. Although this part of Mallorca is a popular destination for tourists, it is far less dense than some of the more crowded resorts in places like Palma and Magaluf. Cala de San Vincenc is beautiful as is Puerto de Pollenca. Beaches like Palma de Mallorca beach are a lot of fun and a great place to people watch. If you do want to strike out on your own, however, and explore some of the lesser known beaches on the island, you will be pleasantly surprised at the diversity and beauty of what you find.
