The San Sebastian beach area provides some of the loveliest and unique metropolitan beaches in Europe. It is juxtaposed directly with the historical buildings and churches of the town, a charming sun bathing experience to recall with a smile of satisfaction.
There are three beaches within the city limits, La Concha Beach, Ondarreta Beach, and Zurriola Beach, each one offering a selection of amenities to ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors. Centrally located in the city and along two kilometers of the coast of Concha Bay, La Concha Beach is the largest of the three beaches. It is also one of the most favored beaches in San Sebastian for the calm waters and abundance of facilities, including restrooms, showers, lockers, and changing rooms. Umbrellas and water sports equipment are available for rent; sun shade umbrellas can be reserved per day, week, month, or season.
Also in the arc of the Concha Bay is Ondarreta Beach, attached to La Concha Beach via a narrow path, which is covered at high tide. In addition to the same amenities as La Concha, Ondarreta offers a children’s club during the summer months. Situated outside the protection of Concha Bay, opposite the Moneo Cubes, spreading out to the wide open sea, Zurriola Beach is attractive to surfers throughout the year. Having undergone recent renovations and expansions, this particular beach, too, offers a summer children’s club, as well as the aforementioned vacationer’s amenities, a surfing school and surf board for rent. Other nice beaches within the surrounding areas include Hendaia Beach, Zarautz Beach, Fuenterrabia Beach, and Getaria, all promising unique and pleasant experiences for all visitors.
