Bodrum Hotels

You will find a variety of Bodrum hotels to choose from in all price ranges and to suit every taste and interest—everything from five-star beach resorts and more modest properties to unique vacation rentals and charming bed and breakfast inns. You can find cheap Bodrum accommodation in just about any of these if you do some research and plan carefully.

The city itself is set on a beautiful wide peninsula. Within its picturesque harbor is another little peninsula that leads out to the massive Bodrum Castle that dominates the city. You can find some truly unique lodging in Bodrum on this narrow strip of land filled with closely packed houses. These are boutique hotels and charming little bed and breakfast pensions. One with an amazing location is the Sevin Pension. It is only steps from the harbor where there are ferries to the island of Kos in Greece, and the hotel will arrange for cruises along the Turquoise Coast. Rooms are small and modest, and the restaurant is quite good. Also here are the Safa Hotel and Sunshine Apartments, with swimming pool and spas. These kinds of properties make very good cheap Bodrum accommodation if you are more interested in location and charm than in luxury.

One of the four-star hotels in Bodrum is in this same area near the castle, in case you want the location and have a bigger budget. The Dedeman has spacious, tastefully appointed rooms with minibars and other amenities; two dining spots, a bar, and rooftop lounge; a swimming pool and private sunbathing dock. Many hotels in Bodrum are located in the main part of the city and around the harbor to the east and west. You won’t find the most recognized chains from the United States, like Sheraton or Hilton. But several hotels in Bodrum are those of comparable chains from Europe that are found everywhere else in the world, such as the Kempinski and Movenpick. There also is a Marmara Hotel (pictured), part of one of the most deluxe Turkish hotel chains. Most of these will have full-service spas with traditional Turkish baths, a wide choice of restaurants and other facilities, and often will have some nightlife.

If you’re looking for Bodrum hotels away from the constant bustle of the city, you might want to try the little village of Yalikavak. This is located on the northern shore of the Bodrum peninsula, about eight miles from the city center. Here are some very secluded beaches, often quite uncrowded and dotted with old Greek style windmills. There are several small hotels here, as well as some beach resorts. The Elite Hotel is on the beach, as is the elegant Princess Artemisia. Both of these offer the kind of activities you would expect of beach resorts, including kayaking, tennis, jet skis, and banana boats, as well as the gulet sailing for which this area is known.

You can find relatively cheap Bodrum accommodation in combination with nature and seclusion in the hills between the larger city and Yalikavak. The oddly named 4Reasons hotel is located on the road between the two. It is famous in the area for its gourmet dining and hilltop location overlooking the sea, and is set in a beautiful natural area excellent for hiking and horseback riding. If you stay here or at any of the Bodrum hotels up in the hills, you really need to have car rentals as your means of transportation as they are not accessible to the city by bus and taxis will be expensive.
