Cesme Hotels

You have many choices of Cesme accommodation in this lovely coastal town at the westernmost tip of Turkey. It sits on the tip of a peninsula west of Izmir that juts to within two miles of the island of Chios in Greece, and offers everything from four- and five-star beach resorts and little bed and breakfast Cesme hotels to boutique hotels and vacation rentals.

Most of the finer Cesme hotels and resorts are located in small fishing villages and on secluded beaches a few miles from the center of town. The five-star Grand Hotel Ontur (pictured) is located in Dalyan, about three miles away from town. It is set on a cliff overlooking the sea. The rooms and suites are luxuriously furnished and quite spacious, and there are a number of dining spots, bars, and lounges. This is typical of the resort hotels in Cesme that offer full-service spas, many with traditional Turkish baths. Similar Cesme accommodation can be found at the beautiful Ilica Hotel Spa, set on its own private beach and with sumptuous rooms and suites, some of which boast Jacuzzis and private gardens—and the Sheraton Resort and Spa, also on the beaches of nearby Ilica. Farthest from the town center (about eight miles away) is the five star-Suzer Sun Dreams Hotel.

If you’re looking for hotels in Cesme on a less grand scale in the center of town, there are a number of good three-star properties available. The Rainbow Hotel is typical, offering central lodging in Cesme in clean comfortable rooms and self-catering apartments. The hotel offers a swimming pool and Turkish bath, and will assist you with tours to places such as Ephesus. It is only about a ten-minute walk to the shopping areas and small clubs offering some nightlife. You can take a dolmus (shared minibus taxi) to the beaches or to explore some of the outlying small fishing villages. If you have disabilities or walking difficulties, it is important to do some research before booking any of these properties. Many of the smaller hotels in Cesme will have steps to get to different areas of the property, and some (like the Rainbow Hotel) require walking up and down a hill to get to the hotel.

Way out on the tip of the peninsula is the Kamer Boutique Hotel, a small Cesme accommodation with very reasonable rates that is within walking distance to the beach and nightclubs of other beach resorts. One advantage of this property other than the reasonable rates, is the large car park that makes it an excellent place to stay if you are using car rentals as your transportation. The Cardak Villas in Ilica offer six villas with three and four bedrooms – excellent for families and small groups celebrating special events. The rooms are modest, but amenities include laundry and cooking facilities. You do not need to choose Cesme hotels for your vacations here. This area is often used by Izmir residents for quick getaways, and many of them rent out their vacation homes when they are not in residence.
