Most visitors looking for Fethiye accommodation will be looking for vacation rentals or Fethiye hotels in the vicinity of one of the popular beaches. The most beautiful of these beaches is Oludeniz Beach with its famous Blue Lagoon. This beach is actually in the village of Oludeniz about four miles south of the larger city.
There are some three- and four-star hotels in Fethiye as well as a number of comfortable two-star guest houses and some charming small boutique properties. The Oyster Residences boasts 22 luxury rooms, a sparking swimming pool, and a pool bar serving snacks. It is located right on the beach and is near many dining spots and shopping. A little to the south of Oludeniz Beach on lovely secluded Kidrack Beach is the Lykia World, one of the five-star beach resorts in the area.
The Fethiye accommodation in the area of Calis Beach places you in a thriving ex pat community, so there are numerous vacation rentals as many of the residents are seasonal and rent out their villas, cottages, and apartments when they are not in residence. There is a little nightlife here that is a bit more subdued that in the lively larger town. The Hotel Idee is set right on Calis Beach, and offers facilities that are excellent for families with children.
Most of the finer resort and beach hotels in Fethiye are located outside of town. One of the best is the beautiful and luxurious Hillside Beach Club (pictured), about three miles away. It is set on a long private beach, with villas climbing up into the pine clad mountains. If you are coming here, you will probably be flying into Dalaman airport, and this resort will arrange you airport transfer for you. It boasts a fabulous restaurant, several bars and lounges, and even has a special adults only “Silent Beach” where loud noise and cell phones are not welcome. This is definitely not discount lodging in Fethiye, but the rates are reasonable considering the facilities, location, and amenities.
The best cheap Fethiye hotels will be found in the historic city center or outside of town in the hills away from the beaches. The Celay Hotel is set in the Babadag Mountains in the little village of Hirsaronu. All rooms face the large swimming pool and there is a separate section for children. Because of its hillside location, it is excellent for paragliding down onto the beaches below. Like many hotels in Fethiye it also offers cultural tours of the city and to the Lycian tombs. One of the similar Fethiye hotels is the Turkuaz Garden, set in the mountains about two miles above Calis Beach. It offers half board, meaning breakfast and dinner at the hotel’s dining venue is included in the price of the room. It is set on a large property with beautiful grounds and its own lush botanical garden.
Some of the Fethiye accommodation may be found in all-inclusive hotels. Most of these are either self-contained resorts with so many facilities and amenities that the guests rarely venture away from the property. Or they are finer, more remote resorts without other dining options nearby.
