London Aquarium

The London Aquarium is one of the most popular attractions in the city for its wide variety marine life species and three floors of stunning exhibits. The Sealife Centre actually has locations not only all over the United Kingdom, but also all over the world in places such as Germany, Spain, Belgium, and the U.S. The London Sealife Centre is widely considered to be the crown jewel of all the locations. The marine animals at the London Aquarium represent over 400 species. If you’re planning a visit to London, taking a trip to the Aquarium is well worth the time for kids and adults alike.

The London Aquarium is located on the ground level of County Hall in central London. It is close to many of the other popular tourist attractions in the city including the London Eye and Madame Tussauds. You can even purchase combination tickets that include, for instance, admission to both the London Sealife Centre and Madame Tussauds for one discounted price. Cut through the long lines and save some money for the rest of your trip by looking into combination tickets or a London Pass in advance of making your arrangements.

There are three different floors and fourteen zones that house all of the animals at the London Aquarium in large tanks and exhibit spaces. The way the Aquarium is laid out engages visitors in interactive exhibits including touch tanks and tunnels that make you feel as though you are among the exotic varieties of marine life. The fourteen zones represent different aquatic and marine habitats including the upper Atlantic Ocean, the British Harbor, the middle Pacific, the Indian Ocean, and Thames fresh water streams. There are also zones specifically dedicated to coral reefs, invertebrates, tropical freshwater fish, and rainforest life. Witnessing all of the animals at the London Aquarium in what amounts to their natural habitats is an exciting and instructive experience. This is a vastly popular destination for groups of school children in London as well as tourists from all over because of how engaging the exhibits are. It is an amazing opportunity to see, for example, a sample representation of the sea life in the Indian Ocean in an indoor exhibit in the middle of London. Giant sea turtles, rays, sharks, and seals are just a few of the animals that you can see at the London Sealife Centre.

One of the most popular features of the Aquarium is the ability to adopt an animal. For a reasonable fee, you can adopt a shark, a seal, a turtle, or a penguin and help the Sealife Centre maintain its high level of quality and care for these amazing creatures. You also receive some fun gifts such as a reusable cotton handbag, a Sealife notepad and stuffed animal, creature fact sheet, and more. This is a great way to get kids excited about learning more about the animals as they feel a responsibility for the animal that they adopted. Besides being a good learning experience, the truth is that this is a popular attraction in London that sees some 1 million visitors through its gates every year for good reason. The exhibits are amazing and the prices are completely reasonable especially when you purchase combination tickets to other attractions along with admission to the Aquarium.
