Facebook Timeline

The new Facebook timeline is a complete redesign of the traditional Facebook profile, and it's a beautiful platform for displaying photographs and choosing which aspects of your life you want to change. While the profile layout has been tweaked through Facebook's many updates through the years, this is the single biggest change that's been made to the personal pages on the social networking site. Timeline is a visual history of your entire existence on Facebook, and the beautiful layout will soon be on the profiles of the more than 750 million Facebook users around the world.

Timeline is a searchable, customizable way to present your profile. Users can define different types of "life events" in their status updates, including work, relationships, and family, along with adding details about their lives before Facebook. The "view activity" lets users list what they've been up to recently—adding new events, changing photos, or reading books, among other options—and change the privacy settings to suit what they do and don't want to share. Best of all, it's possible to highlight your own favorite things in your profile, such as photographs, so that friends who visit your page will know exactly what you want them to see most.

The main question for many users will be how to choose what goes on their new Timeline page, how to download and change their new panoramic cover photos, and how to customize the Timeline details to exactly what they want it to show, but after that it's up to them how they want to show off their lives on Facebook.
