Could anybody tell me if 8 days are enough for Newzealand vacation :-)

I'm from Malaysia and plannning this year vacation in Newzealand with my 4 friends and wondering about to plan. does anyone have any idea on planning Newzealand vacation including flight, hotels in the main cities, things to do etc., if so reply us soon.
