Hi there,
Definitely, smaller resorts have more character and makes getting around easier. They offer a relaxed and a chilled atmosphere that you cant find in bigger resorts. Also, if you are a beginner a smaller resort offers a comforting atmosphere where you can gain self confidence.
Schweitzer Mountain is fantastic. Located at Sandpoint in the panhandle it has a vertical drop of 2,400 feet which is second only to
Sun Valley's 3,400 feet.
The Mountain is spread out over two huge bowls and has 82 runs, operated by 10 lifts. Also, the lack of crowds makes Schweitzer an ideal skiing heaven.
