Default Re: Wanting to stay in Munich for entire Oktoberfest

Hi Right,

Sounds great with your plans, and good on you for taking such an amazing trip at such a young age!

First question I have: Where are you actually from, ie. are you travelling from the USA? You may want to post some ads in Craigslist and Gumtree to look for travel partners.

Some helpful info for you: (oops, i can't post links yet... search for Oktoberfest Survival Guide etc.)

Going for the entire 2 weeks of Oktoberfest will be VERY expensive, even if you stay at the cheapest possible accomodation (in Munich, cheap means about 50 Euro per night during Oktoberfest. Hotels charge over 200 Euro a pop during those to weeks.

Personally I would recommend staying shorter, but spening more per day - it's the ultimate party experience, and 100 Euro in the beer tents doesn't go far (5 or 6 beers + lunch and maybe a hat, and it's gone). I did it on a budget 3 years ago, and last year I took twice as much cash and had twice as much fun.

Having said that, either way its an incredible party there. Enjoy every minute of it! :)
