Of course: I think it's a pretty rare tourist itinerary for China that doesn't include Xian these days. Aside from the obvious (the Terracotta Warriors), the Shaanxi History Museum is really great. In fact, I think if you only went to one museum in China, it would be the best choice. The City Walls are also great - very atmosperic on a misty day. And you can do the full 16km circuit if you have the energy. The Great Mosque and the Muslim Quarter in general are great as well.
Wasn't particularly impressed by Huaqing Pool. Rather steep (by Chinese standards) admission price and it's all been completely reconstructed. I don't think foreign tourists would find it particulary interesting. Big Goose Pagoda, Beilin Museum, etc, are all okay, but you can see similar things in other cities in China. |
