It's hard to pick a favourite - each section has its own strengths. The ease of getting to Badaling makes it a good option. And although it is crowded you can still find your own little section of wall if you walk far enough. Far fewer people at Mutianyu, plus some wonderful views and it's still quite easy to get to. Then the trek from Jinshanling to Simatai is wonderful, though the persistent vendors all along the way can be irritating. And it's quite a long trip out to Jinshanling, especially if you're doing it by public transport. Personally I would only head to Jinshanling or Simatai for the purpose of doing the hike - I wouldn't bother going out there just to visit one section.
