Default Re: Visas to Brazil

Hi Crock,
I hate to encourage people to not be entirely honest on a visa application, but in your case, you don't need to mention that you will be studying for 2 weeks. Student Visas, as you found out, are only for long-term students. Just put that you are going as a tourist, and if they ask you (which I highly doubt they will) if you are still planning on taking the classes, just tell them no (and then take them anyway). The rules for things like this are not nearly as strict as in the US and Europe, and no one will be checking up on you. (I for example, have lived in Peru for about 2 years on a tourist visa that I just continue renewing and no one has said anything about it yet...). Basically Brazil started making tourists apply for Visas in response to the US's Visa policy.

Have a Great Trip!!!

Happy Travels,
Lola
