Celebrate the anniversary of Tupelo's native son coming home to play for the first time as a superstar. Relive Elvis Presley's glory years in his birth place of Tupelo, Mississippi with an entire festival dedicated to him. It's fun for the whole family with events lined up for all three days including, live music by more than 10 artists, a reenactment of the parade he returned home in, and the legendary concert that followed (performed by Elvis impersonator Donny Edwards). You can see all the original posters from all 33 of Elvis' movies in an exhibit, hear memories from the locals that attended the homecoming concert in 1956, and see a documentary film about Elvis' return to home.
Tupelo has thought of every way to rejoice in their homegrown legend's life. There's even an Elvis look-alike pet parade, and an Elvis themed recliner race. In between activities, you could talk to some of the locals about their memories, some of them may have even met the King himself.
