Hi there,
Minas Gerais has the unforgettable landscapes, the historic buildings, mountains, woods, clean air, lakes, caves and much more. Grande Sertão Veredas Park is also a great place if you want to visit grottos and caves.
Having said this, I have a couple of
suggestions for you:
* The
Amazonia National Park or also known as the 'The Green Inferno' because this natural wonder covers almost forty per cent of Brazil's total land mass.
* The Pantanal, which is a wildlife reserve where you can enjoy bird watching.
As you are travelling in July be advised that because Brazil's beaches are on the Atlantic coast the sea can be notoriously rough and cold due to the currents and under-tones.
Roughly, you are looking at around $30 a day for
accommodation, $15 in food costs, etc. Therefore, if you are staying for 3 weeks in Brazil, I estimate around $1500 spending money. However, in some places you should be able to save some money in accomodation, etc.
I would advise to carry on you as much as you are comfortable with. You will need cash on you as you cannot relay simply on credit cards, traveler's cheques, etc; and you will save a small fortune in the process. The reason I say this, it is that you might be limited on the amount of money you can spend on a credit card.
Traveler's cheques can be a hassle because there is only a couple of banks (Banco de Brasil, etc) in Brazil where you can exchange them commission free.
Hope this helps
