Hi there,
The most famous trail for hiking in Vermont is the
Long Trail that runs from the Vermont-Massachusetts state line to the Canadian border. It spans around two hundred miles and was built between 1910 and 1930, which makes it the oldest long-distance walking path in the United States.
A popular section of the Long Trail where you can hike starts at Route 11 west of Peru Notch to the top of Bromley Mountain and it takes around four hours to complete.
Another good stretch for hiking begins in Townshend State Park on Route 30 to the top of Bald Mountain and it takes around two hours.
Hope this helps
