For those who are looking to experience the culture of Japan in a week, I'd recommend going during Japan's Golden Week. Usually starting at the last week of April to the end of the first week of May, you can experience four of Japan's National holidays!
These holidays include:
-Showa Day from 2007 on (previously Greenery Day)
-Constitution Memorial Day
-Greenery Day from 2007 on (previously People's Day)
