An AB zone ticket is the best deal, as you can buy extension tickets for the outlying areas. Prices for one way tickets are as follows:
Zones AB €2.10
Zones BC €2.50
Zones ABC €2.80
Prices for single
tickets are as follows:
Zones AB €6.10
Zones ABC €6.50
Then, you have the WelcomeCard which is sold at tourist offices and prices are:
Zones AB €16.50
Zones ABC €18
This is what you need to do to get to Auschwitz:
Take a sleeper train from
Berlin to Krakow (around $200 there and back).Then take the one hour commuter train ride from Krakow to Auschwitz which costs around $10.
