I really think it depends what you're looking for and how far you're willing to travel, how much relaxing or sightseeing you want to do etc etc! I've been in summer and winter and had an excellent time on both occasions! In winter there are less tourists, prices are lower and it rarely rains, in summer the weather is wonderful but places can be crowded... see what I mean!
