If you travel to Chile during April time, book a room well in advance as it is Holy Week so it is a busy time. Your best bet is to come late September or early December as the weather is pleasant, and destinations around Chile are less crowded.
If you travel to Chile in the
summer to, let's say, places like San Pedro de Atacama, is far too hot and humid.
The only place I recommend traveling during high season is
Santiago. Summer is in fact the most pleasant time to visit, as Santiaguinos head out for vacation, easing traffic, reducing smog, and dropping rates in most hotels.
