Hi Cease,
Sounds like a late night fix. Here you go:
Kaufhof
Kaufingerstr./Rosenstr or at Karlsplatz, along Sonnenstrasse
The basement of department stores in this chain house large supermarkets. Apart form normal groceries, there are cheese and cured meats delis, a butcher shop, a tea shop and a special chocolate section. They are also open till 8PM on Saturday night, like most supermarkets.
HL
Tal (north side, halfway between Isartor and Marienplatz)
Open till 8 PM, but much smaller than the Kaufhof, the HL offers some cheaper brands and acceptable produce selections. It's good for being in a pinch, but I wouldn't be likely to buy all my groceries for a dinner there.
Lidl
www.lidl.de
Lidl is a large supermarket.
Aldi
www.aldi.com
This chain is the baby of the German food market. It recently purchased Trader Joe's in the States.
