The World Exposition, regarded as the Olympic Games of economy, science and technology, is a large-scale, global, non-commercial event to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world.
‘Shanghai tourism sector grew by 8 percent annually in the last 10 years. At this growth rate, Shanghai will have 140 million visitors in 2010. Experts estimate the attendance at the World Expo in Shanghai to be 70 million,’ said Shanghai Mayor Chen in his presentation to the BIE. |
