Smile Re: Corfu: Try the Traditional Cuisine Made of Local Ingredients

I agree with your comments about Corfiot Cuisine having a strong bearing on Corfu's tourism. Dining out is a major highlight in my Greek holidays and I find it is actually cheaper to dine out in Corfu than to self cater in an apartment or villa.

In my opinion Corfu does not do enough to attract alternative and sustainable tourism therefore I've put together a programme of Special Interest holidays called... "A taste of rural Corfiot Life". The title may give a clue to the fact that cooking lessons are included. :-)

Prior to the start of their holiday our guests choose the dishes they would like to see prepared from a list which includes, tarmasalata/tzatziki/spicy cheese dip/bean soup/ moussaka etc. On their selected day(s) the guests gather in the kitchen to watch the demonstration by our chef. The meals cooked are sufficient for a full evening meal for the number in the party.

We also offer art lessons/wine tasting/guided walks/island tours and a writers circle.
