Default Re: Which Hotel?

Both are wonderful experiences. Caesars is more of the old school feel, as it was the first themed resort to really make a mark on the strip. It continues to morph and improve and certainly has some of the good stuff. Venetian is one of the "new vegas" resorts built within the past 10 years and takes everything to a higher level.

Head to head, here's how they stack up, in my opinion:

Rooms: Caesars actually has the newest rooms when they finished their new tower, but overall Venetian is still a newer hotel. By the end of 2007, Venetian should be opening their new hotel, Palazzo, as well. Venetian is an all suite hotel, so in general the rooms are larger and nicer. EDGE: Venetian

Shopping
: Both have great shopping within scenic and interesting atmospheres. While Venetian's overall shopping atmosphere may be slightly nicer (with the gonoliers and all) and has the best gelato on the strip (IMHO), the better overall shopping is at Caesars. EDGE: Caesars

Restaurants
: Again, both are exemplary choices. While Venetian offers a slightly higher end gamut of restuarants, Caesars offers more variety (when including the restaurants in the Forum Shoppes). Hard to call. If you are talking award winning cuisine Venetian wins, if you are talking overall variety and affordability, Caesars wins, so its a DRAW!

Nightlife
: Both offer one of the latest and hottest clubs in town. At Caesars, you can visit the infamous PURE and PCat Doll Lounge, as well as the hip hop friendly OPM in the Shoppes. At Venetian, you have TAO. I tend to shy away from the crowded big box club that PURE offers, but absolutely love the outdoor patio scene there. When it comes down to it, if I were to choose between PURE and TAO, I would be at TAO. The decor, intimacy, incredible attention to detail and impeccable service makes TAO a sure thing everytime. EDGE: Venetian

Demographics
: Both bring in a high-end clientele. I do think Caesars has more of an East Coast, uncle Louie and Jimmy "The Knife" from NY always stayed here kinda feel. Venetian on the other hand has more of an international flavor to it, drawing an especially strong pull from Asian customers due to its sister resort overseas. EDGE: Depends on your preference

Atmosphere
: The overall feel of Caesars still has that old school Vegas feel to it, which is both good and bad, depending on your point of view. Venetian has that fresh, everything is perfect feel that its owner, Sheldon Adelson, dictates. EDGE: Venetian

Service
: Hard to go wrong in either place. I feel that Venetian expects more from its employees and as a result may have better overall service. Of course, BOTH hotels will take very good care of you, especially if you are a high roller. EDGE: Venetian

Either way, you are certain to get a slice of Italy. Capice!?
I hope that helps!
